Gemstar Trading Co is a traveling booth owned by Lonnie Scribner and operated with help from the self-appointed CEO (and daughter), Tamara.
To say the least, these two humans are professional urban treasure hunters. They also have a passion for travel. Mix these ingredients together, bake at 350 ̊ F, and out comes Gemstar Trading Co.
The short version of this story is that Lonnie started picking up beautiful pieces of jewelry while traveling overseas and decided to start selling them in America..
Lonnie’s world adventuring began over 10 years ago.
He has climbed mountains all over South America and Asia. Including hiking to the base camp of Mount Everest twice (for good measure).
He lives half the year in Thailand where he hunts down amazing rings, stones, pendants, earrings, and more.
Pretty much anything shiny, nifty or neat. As long as it’s smaller than a giant vase, he won’t try shipping those again.
During the Summer he comes back to the United States and travels to different street and art shows.
Tamara helps him with events in the Summer. She has also invested a lot of time traveling overseas to find jewelry and clothes to sell in their booth.
While Tamara has many passions and interests, none may be as obvious as her love for cats. When she’s not trying to sneak kittens into shows, she creates and sells artistic masterpieces of her favorite furry feline friends.
Most of the stuff Gemstar Trading Co sells is found on trips to different countries all over the world.
